Daniel 11:1-45

"And in the first year of Darius the Mede, I arose to be an encouragement and a protection for him. [2] "And now I will tell you the truth. Behold, three more kings are going to arise in Persia. Then a fourth will gain far more riches than all of them; as soon as he becomes strong through his riches, he will arouse the whole empire against the realm of Greece. [3] "And a mighty king will arise, and he will rule with great authority and do as he pleases. [4] "But as soon as he has arisen, his kingdom will be broken up and parceled out toward the four points of the compass, though not to his own descendants, nor according to his authority which he wielded; for his sovereignty will be uprooted and given to others besides them.

[5] "Then the king of the South will grow strong, along with one of his princes who will gain ascendancy over him and obtain dominion; his domain will be a great dominion indeed. [6] "And after some years they will form an alliance, and the daughter of the king of the South will come to the king of the North to carry out a peaceful arrangement. But she will not retain her position of power, nor will he remain with his power, but she will be given up, along with those who brought her in, and the one who sired her, as well as he who supported her in those times. [7] "But one of the descendants of her line will arise in his place, and he will come against their army and enter the fortress of the king of the North, and he will deal with them and display great strength. [8] "And also their gods with their metal images and their precious vessels of silver and gold he will take into captivity to Egypt, and he on his part will refrain from attacking the king of the North for some years. [9] "Then the latter will enter the realm of the king of the South, but will return to his own land.

[10] "And his sons will mobilize and assemble a multitude of great forces; and one of them will keep on coming and overflow and pass through, that he may again wage war up to his very fortress. [11] "And the king of the South will be enraged and go forth and fight with the king of the North. Then the latter will raise a great multitude, but that multitude will be given into the hand of the former. [12] "When the multitude is carried away, his heart will be lifted up, and he will cause tens of thousands to fall; yet he will not prevail. [13] "For the king of the North will again raise a greater multitude than the former, and after an interval of some years he will press on with a great army and much equipment.

[14] "Now in those times many will rise up against the king of the South; the violent ones among your people will also lift themselves up in order to fulfill the vision, but they will fall down. [15] "Then the king of the North will come, cast up a siege mound, and capture a well-fortified city; and the forces of the South will not stand their ground, not even their choicest troops, for there will be no strength to make a stand. [16] "But he who comes against him will do as he pleases, and no one will be able to withstand him; he will also stay for a time in the Beautiful Land, with destruction in his hand. [17] "And he will set his face to come with the power of his whole kingdom, bringing with him a proposal of peace which he will put into effect; he will also give him the daughter of women to ruin it. But she will not take a stand for him or be on his side. [18] "Then he will turn his face to the coast lands and capture many. But a commander will put a stop to his scorn against him; moreover, he will repay him for his scorn. [19] "So he will turn his face toward the fortresses of his own land, but he will stumble and fall and be found no more.

[20] "Then in his place one will arise who will send an oppressor through the Jewel of his kingdom; yet within a few days he will be shattered, though neither in anger nor in battle. [21] "And in his place a despicable person will arise, on whom the honor of kingship has not been conferred, but he will come in a time of tranquillity and seize the kingdom by intrigue. [22] "And the overflowing forces will be flooded away before him and shattered, and also the prince of the covenant. [23] "And after an alliance is made with him he will practice deception, and he will go up and gain power with a small force of people. [24] "In a time of tranquillity he will enter the richest parts of the realm, and he will accomplish what his fathers never did, nor his ancestors; he will distribute plunder, booty, and possessions among them, and he will devise his schemes against strongholds, but only for a time. [25] "And he will stir up his strength and courage against the king of the South with a large army; so the king of the South will mobilize an extremely large and mighty army for war; but he will not stand, for schemes will be devised against him. [26] "And those who eat his choice food will destroy him, and his army will overflow, but many will fall down slain. [27] "As for both kings, their hearts will be intent on evil, and they will speak lies to each other at the same table; but it will not succeed, for the end is still to come at the appointed time. [28] "Then he will return to his land with much plunder; but his heart will be set against the holy covenant, and he will take action and then return to his own land.

[29] "At the appointed time he will return and come into the South, but this last time it will not turn out the way it did before. [30] "For ships of Kittim will come against him; therefore he will be disheartened, and will return and become enraged at the holy covenant and take action; so he will come back and show regard for those who forsake the holy covenant. [31] "And forces from him will arise, desecrate the sanctuary fortress, and do away with the regular sacrifice. And they will set up the abomination of desolation. [32] "And by smooth words he will turn to godlessness those who act wickedly toward the covenant, but the people who know their God will display strength and take action. [33] "And those who have insight among the people will give understanding to the many; yet they will fall by sword and by flame, by captivity and by plunder, for many days. [34] "Now when they fall they will be granted a little help, and many will join with them in hypocrisy. [35] "And some of those who have insight will fall, in order to refine, purge, and make them pure, until the end time; because it is still to come at the appointed time.

[36] "Then the king will do as he pleases, and he will exalt and magnify himself above every god, and will speak monstrous things against the God of gods; and he will prosper until the indignation is finished, for that which is decreed will be done. [37] "And he will show no regard for the gods of his fathers or for the desire of women, nor will he show regard for any other god; for he will magnify himself above them all. [38] "But instead he will honor a god of fortresses, a god whom his fathers did not know; he will honor him with gold, silver, costly stones, and treasures. [39] "And he will take action against the strongest of fortresses with the help of a foreign god; he will give great honor to those who acknowledge him, and he will cause them to rule over the many, and will parcel out land for a price.

[40] "And at the end time the king of the South will collide with him, and the king of the North will storm against him with chariots, with horsemen, and with many ships; and he will enter countries, overflow them, and pass through. [41] "He will also enter the Beautiful Land, and many countries will fall; but these will be rescued out of his hand: Edom, Moab and the foremost of the sons of Ammon. [42] "Then he will stretch out his hand against other countries, and the land of Egypt will not escape. [43] "But he will gain control over the hidden treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; and Libyans and Ethiopians will follow at his heels. [44] "But rumors from the East and from the North will disturb him, and he will go forth with great wrath to destroy and annihilate many. [45] "And he will pitch the tents of his royal pavilion between the seas and the beautiful Holy Mountain; yet he will come to his end, and no one will help him.

"And in the first year of Darius the Mede, I arose to be an encouragement and a protection for him. So sinong nag-sasalita sa chapter 11:1? The angel. So sometimes do you feel like save ka, there’s somebody protecting you? Are there times you feel afraid? What is your natural tendency when you are afraid? Our tendency when you are afraid, isn’t it true that run to somebody, because two is better than one. Are there angel around us, is Jesus in us? That’s the greatest truth you need to remember that if you are a believer Jesus Christ is in you. So ito yung angel ang nagsasabi, if you are to entitle this chapter you will call it Wars here on this earth. The angel saw Daniel what would happened and if just read your history books you will be amazed at the preciseness of this chapter alone and I’ll just like to show you example v. 2, sabi nung angel. And now I will tell you the truth. He told Daniel something in the future, Behold, three more kings are going to arise in Persia. Do you know if you search your history book that is exactly what happened. V.,"And a mighty king will arise, and he will rule with great authority and do as he pleases. After the Persians who came? The Greek, sino yung mighty king? Alexander. "But as soon as he has arisen, his kingdom will be broken up and parceled out toward the four points of the compass, though not to his own descendants, nor according to his authority which he wielded; for his sovereignty will be uprooted and given to others besides them. We showed you last week four of the generals. Diba sabi sa bible the kingdom will be broken up into four and we know exactly that it was divided into four. Sabi ng bible yung successor ni Alexander the Great will not be one of his own descendant nor according to his authority which he wielded. Let me just read to you from the history book about Alexander the Great. The infant son of Alexander the Great III was Alexander IV born of the Persian princes Roxanna. What happen to his son? He was suppose to be the one to ascend the throne kept under Casanders custody, he was removed by murder in 310 B.C. His uncle Philip who was an illegitimate brother of Alexander III and mentally derange had already been assassinated in 317 thus there were no ascendants to succeed Alexander himself and the prediction not to go to his descendants found fulfillment. Do you understand that? The bible is precise, it is exact. I just take that as a little piece of history to show you that this bible is incredible. We can check out whether this prophecy actually came true or not. All of these name that I give to you do not come from the bible, they come from history and it is precise and exact to the last detail. Can you imagine that, here you are at a very young age Alexander conquered the whole world. If you were Alexander and you were conquered the world then how would you feel? Great!, right? You would feel fantastic and yet your reign was short. He died at age 33 same as Jesus and his own did not even inherit his kingdom divided into four and then he is now history. The most memorable mummies is Alexander the Great, you know why? Because he asks his generals and this is the key truth that you need to understand. Sabi niya, "Balutin mo ako, except my hand." Bakit? To show the world that this great king when he was dying what was in his hand? Nothing. You can be the greatest of kings and what will you have in the end when you are dead? Nothing, you will become dust like everybody else and there’s not different between Alexander the Great and janitor the small. Every single thing that is predicted by Daniel in chapter 11 already has happened. Example v. 5, "Then the king of the South will grow strong, along with one of his princes who will gain ascendancy over him and obtain dominion; his domain will be a great dominion indeed.

The history book tell us the exact sequence of what happen. All of them already occurred. Itong sa Daniel 11 while most of it is now finished in the bible what we believe God is trying to do is to show us his people in the later times what is going to happen. And all of this things that are happening in Daniel’s case mangyayari din yan in one shape or another. We like to focus on the last one. In Antiochus IV as you study in, if you look at encyclopedia Britanica he foreshadows the coming of the anti-Christ. Turn to v.20, "Then in his place one will arise who will send an oppressor through the Jewel of his kingdom; yet within a few days he will be shattered, though neither in anger nor in battle. [21] "And in his place a despicable person will arise, on whom the honor of kingship has not been conferred, but he will come in a time of tranquillity and seize the kingdom by intrigue. [22] "And the overflowing forces will be flooded away before him and shattered, and also the prince of the covenant. [23] "And after an alliance is made with him he will practice deception, and he will go up and gain power with a small force of people. As we said before yung anti-Christ, he will come madaming magugulat, because his rise to power will be very strange and there will be a peace treaty in the Middle East and we are looking forward to that and then he will practice deception and as we said the other week, he will for three and a half years enjoy nice peace and everybody will be happy. And what he will do?, v.23 "In a time of tranquillity he will enter the richest parts of the realm, and he will accomplish what his fathers never did, nor his ancestors; What is that, what is it that the ancestors had never accomplished from the time of the olden days. He will now be able to bring peace between Israel and all of the Arabs, he has never been done, there’s always be giyera and it’s been like that forever. Notice here sabi, "What has not been accomplish by his father he will accomplish he will distribute how will he do it? He bribe them how? With plunder, booty, possessions among them, and he will devise his schemes against strongholds, but only for a time. Daniel 11:25-29

"And he will stir up his strength and courage against the king of the South with a large army; so the king of the South will mobilize an extremely large and mighty army for war; but he will not stand, for schemes will be devised against him. [26] "And those who eat his choice food will destroy him, and his army will overflow, but many will fall down slain. [29] "At the appointed time he will return and come into the South, but this last time it will not turn out the way it did before. Jump now to v. 32, this is the key verse of Daniel. Daniel 11:32

"And by smooth words he will turn to godlessness those who act wickedly toward the covenant, but the people who know their God will display strength and take action. What are some of the things that we can learn? Let’s look at the principles with all this wars. You know since Genesis chapter 3, what happens in Genesis 4? When Adam and Eve sin, what came after that in Genesis 4? The two kids they… away and the first murder occurred. Ever since that time, anong nangyayari? It has never stop fighting. If you look at chapter 11, ano yung makikita mo lang? Paulit-ulit, here you have one king what will happen? Nag-aaway sila, then you have another one, everybody is power hungry, everybody is lying to one another, killing each other. So what are some of the things that we can learn?

Principles

1. Prophecy fulfilled strengthens our faith that God’s word is accurate and that God is in control of ALL situations.

What does that tell us? That should strengthen our faith na yung salita ng Diyos is very accurate and the only way it can be accurate is if God is in control of all situations even the pagans, even the none Christian. Is God is in control? Yes, God’s word is accurate, the devil is a defeated foe and yet so many of us we don’t read the bible, so many of us we do not trust what the bible say when it comes to our life. I share with people the secrets of the bible some of them they follow it and they succeed. A lot of the people they don’t follow, their problem is they do not believe. What’s the problem with all of us? We really do not believe that this word is true because you know if you believe it? Boy! We would display strength and take action if we really knew God we do that. Some people they read the bible and still ayaw bumitaw, there are many things in the past na ayaw nating bitawan, things that we know are not right, things that we know that contradict what God’s word is saying na ayaw pa rin nating bitawan for one reason or another, you know why we do not believe this book and yet the evidence is before us maski saan mo tingnan from Genesis to Revelation it is so accurate and yet we don’t believe it. I’ll show you a verse Joshua 1:8

"This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. Do you still believe in miracles? God is in the business of performing miracles. I want you to really read that verse again and again, you know what I discover there… you don’t trust God if you don’t really read His word look at the ending sabi then who, do you see that? See God has already given you the condition. If God gives you the condition He’s now up to you and me to do it and then once you do it God will deliver.

1. Without God, conflicts will surely arise. (James 4:1-3)

• comes from man’s selfish nature.

How are we going to solve the conflicts? You bring God into your life. For example if God tells your, "You know I don’t like idols." Then what should you do? Get rid of it. We want to warn people now. There’s a great amount of Demon possession when you are practicing idolatry that’s why there’s so much in the Philippines. If the bible say do not make any likeness, do not make any kinds of idol please listen to that very carefully. When you are dealing with any occult thing, with idols people listen to me, in the end times nagkakalat na yung mga demonyo and those times are now. All those who break the covenant according to verse 32, if you break the covenant with God that means you are in sin lolokohin ka ng demonyo. We who know God we must take our stand, stay away from sin. If you know you are sinning please stop confess. Do not let the sun go down on your anger why? The devil is going to have a place. If the parents are quarreling the children have no protection. Stay away from sin bring God into your life.

1. Judgment day is coming soon.

• Are we sharing God’s Gospel?

Look at v. 40 [40] "And at the end time the king of the South will collide with him, and the king of the North will storm against him with chariots, with horsemen, and with many ships; and he will enter countries, overflow them, and pass through. [41] "He will also enter the Beautiful Land, and many countries will fall; but these will be rescued out of his hand: Edom, Moab and the foremost of the sons of Ammon. [42] "Then he will stretch out his hand against other countries, and the land of Egypt will not escape. [43] "But he will gain control over the hidden treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; and Libyans and Ethiopians will follow at his heels. [44] "But rumors from the East and from the North will disturb him, and he will go forth with great wrath to destroy and annihilate many. [45] "And he will pitch the tents of his royal pavilion between the seas and the beautiful Holy Mountain; yet he will come to his end, and no one will help him. So this is what will happen there will be a great big battle. And you know this bible is so precise. Now who will survive? You will not see it in chapter 11, you will see it in chapter 12 next week but Daniel 12:1

"Now at that time Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise. How many guards do we have? One. Bakit isa lang? Is that a sign of weakness or strength? Strength. And there will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time; and at that time your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued. So Judgment day is coming. When I suggest how do you know whether you are ready or not? I suggest that question you should ask yourself, kung padating na si Jesus, if the end time is here and there are still people around you that have not heard the gospel of Jesus Christ, the best thing you can do for your love ones believe it or not before Jesus come is to share the good news with them. If you do not have the guts to do that bring them over. That’s the greatest thing that you can do. My suggestion no matter what your occupation is share the gospel with them nicely, be friend them, be nice to them.
