June 18, 1997 Joni’s Mkt.
Basically we said, in part I. The successful man, what does he look like for the successful woman?
We also said that the successful man, he has this two things:
and if you emulate this, ladies and gentlemen talaga naman gaganda ang inyong buhay. There is no question absolutely in my mind and the basic exercise, How can you become a successful person, what kind of basic exercises do you need? First we talk to you about meditating God’s word. If you are in the discipline of meditating God’s word, the bible, I’m just quickly reviewing. What are some of the benefits of meditating on God’s word. This is the real secret of success.
Daniel 6, what happens? Let’s pick up the story from v. 16, obviously Daniel disobey the king, he continued to pray and obviously the king had no choice but to execute Daniel Daniel 6:16-28. Then the king gave orders, and Daniel was brought in and cast into the lions' den. The king spoke and said to Daniel, "Your God whom you constantly serve will Himself deliver you." [17] And a stone was brought and laid over the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the signet rings of his nobles, so that nothing might be changed in regard to Daniel. [18] Then the king went off to his palace and spent the night fasting, and no entertainment was brought before him; and his sleep fled from him. You know he gave orders for Daniel to be broth into the lions’ den. Daniel 6:19-24
Then the king arose with the dawn, at the break of day, and went in haste to the lions' den. [20] And when he had come near the den to Daniel, he cried out with a troubled voice. The king spoke and said to Daniel, "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you constantly serve, been able to deliver you from the lions?" [21] Then Daniel spoke to the king, "O king, live forever! [22] "My God sent His angel and shut the lions' mouths, and they have not harmed me, inasmuch as I was found innocent before Him; and also toward you, O king, I have committed no crime." [23] Then the king was very pleased and gave orders for Daniel to be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he had trusted in his God. [24] The king then gave orders, and they brought those men who had maliciously accused Daniel, and they cast them, their children, and their wives into the lions' den; and they had not reached the bottom of the den before the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones. What can we learn from 19-24? Lot’s of things, you must ask yourself what’s the main taught in the passage? Where should you put your first focus? On God. What did God do? He sent one angel inayos niya, God is powerful, what else? Okay God is just kasi innocent naman si Daniel, Are there innocent people who get killed? The most innocent person in the world, Jesus Christ. What is it about God that should make us jump up and down for joy? Look at v. 16&20, what can you see there, what is being repeated? God is our rescuer, in other words said another way God will deliver us, He is faithful. You know what that means if you make a covenant within? He will be faithful all the time. You know the covenant that the Jews made with God, many people don’t understand the covenant eh. What was the covenant that the Jews made? The covenant is very simple, we will be your people and you God will be our God, and what is the implication of that covenant if God is our Go, what He suppose to do? He should protect us, He should provide for us. And we what is our responsibility as God’s people? Simply to serve Him, to obey Him, that’s the covenant that we make. Si Daniel he had made his covenant kaya sabi nung king sa sa kanya your God whom you want constantly serve tapos sa v. 19 ang tanong niya, "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve, been able to deliver you?" Yung king ba naniniwala sa Panginoong Diyos? The difference between the king and Daniel, the king knew about God, Daniel knew God, and what do we know about the people who know God? The people who know their God what do they do, two things? they displays strength and production this is what is all about. Ang nangyayari po dito when we make a covenant with God, what are we saying? God you are my God, you do what God is suppose to do, I am your people, I will do what I am suppose to do, what’s that? I obey you, ikaw you command then you take care of everything else. And the simple lesson we want to share to you this evening is a man who meditate on God’s word, a man who prays will become truly successful because God will deliver Him always, it does not matter kung ano man. Look at the reason bakit hinde siya kinain ng mga lions? Look at v. 23, Daniel was taken out of the den and no injury or whatever was found on him why? Because he trusted in his God. Many people they say they trust God but they worry. What does that mean? That mean you do not know the God you are trusting really and truly, O men of little faith, that is the whole issue of life on this earth. When Jesus comes back what will he see, will he find faith among the people or none? Now let us analyze this and then let’s take the truth. The simple truth if we trust God, the expression of trust is that I will always obey, I will do what God wants me to do. If you are not doing what God wants you to do, you don’t trust God, example does God want you to read the bible everyday? In fact He wants you to meditate on it day and night but many people thinks seems that was paulit-ulit ko ng sinasabi yan eh. We are not following God’s instructions, we are trying to do it like she was trying to do it before, we are trying to manipulate it ourselves. That’s why we’re so tense, that’s why we are so worried. We are trying to control everything and we can control nothing. We think we can control it but do you know you and I take a control of how much? Zero, we can control nothing outside of us, do you know that? God wants you to trust Him, does He know what he’s doing? Of course. Now, sabi niya meditate on His word very few did, sabi niya pray very few did, no wonder we are not successful, no wonder we are not making the great. Si Daniel he was really walking with his God. There is only one lesson in this entire book, what’s that? Trust God. That is manifested in being a man of prayer, in being a man that we preach bible. Now let me explore that to you and let me teach you a very simple way how to develop trust. Does trust comes automatic? When will you trust God? When you know Him. Many people ang God nila very theoretical, they don’t know God, they have no experience with Him. Si Daniel ang dami niyang experiensiya with God, therefor he knew his God. He was willing to take his entire life, nakataya yung buhay niya on his God. How can you begin to develop your trust in God? You need discipline, how? Turn your Bible to Psalm 78:5-7
For He established a testimony in Jacob,
And appointed a law in Israel,
Which He commanded our fathers,
That they should teach them to their children,
God is commanding you to teach something into your children, v. 6
[6] That the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born,
That they may arise and tell them to their children,
[7] That they should put their confidence in God,
And not forget the works of God,
But keep His commandments,
You should put your confident in God and not forget the words of God but keep his commandment. Look at v. 8, And not be like their fathers,
A stubborn and rebellious generation,
A generation that did not prepare its heart
And whose spirit was not faithful to God.Do you see the key in v. 7? Sabi put your confidence in God . What is the key in v. 7? What is it that will allow you to trust God more and more? You should remember the works of God. Therefor in your meditation you continually meditate on God’s works. God kept saying, "Remember me I am your God." Look at Exodus 20, Exodus 20:1-3
Then God spoke all these words, saying,
[2] "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
[3] "You shall have no other gods before Me.
What was God doing there? Reminding, always. Sino si God? The God who liberated you from the slavery of the Egyptians because God perform so many miracles in Exodus. How of many of them? Ten, and then He perform the great one, He opened the Red Sea. Just always remember that and if you remember that you will have a great God and you will trust God. Suppose you don’t remember that what happen to most of us? Do we forget? Yes, when is the time we forget? Pag may problema na tayo and when you’re in the midst of problems anong nakikita mo? Yung problema, is God there? Wala kaya ang laki ng problema mo. The secret of trusting God is to always have memory recall everyday you should have memorials to God in your home. You need to remind yourself on God’s greatness otherwise you will forget. Go back to Psalm 78, this is what you get when you meditate Psalm 78:7
That they should put their confidence in God,
And not forget the works of God,
But keep His commandments,
This is the greatest truth of all. How do you begin to trust God? We suggest you develop a habit of obeying God. So you put up a lot of records about what God has done, isabay mo dun obedience. You know what will happen if you obey God? God will deliver you, and once God deliver you madami ka nang memories hinde lang sa bible kundi in your own life. Obedience, you know if you obey God, God will bless you. You trust, how do you trust? You remember all the great things that God did then you obey. If there is bitterness in your heart what will you do? Forgive. And what will happen? God will deliver you. Ang problema lang kay God kung minsan God delivers you in His time not in your time. God will deliver you at the time when it is best. You know God could have deliver him before he got into the lion’s den, when does God deliver? When you are already inside. Ang gusto kasi natin deliverance before the problem happens, God sometimes deliver that way but most of the time God does not deliver that way. When does He deliver? Kailangan dumaan ka according to his will. Why does God doing that way? So that He will get the glory kasi yung sitwasyon hinde mo kaya eh, but if you deliver out of that who gets the glory? God. You are blessed that you pass through it. So, what should you do? Remember. God is good, he will deliver just at the right time so don’t be anxious kung may problema ka you thank God He is now working in your life. Let us pray.
