This evening from the book of Daniel, let’s turn there basically this is old testament, this is before Jesus Christ, this is the prophet Daniel, he is talking to the king and now in chapter 5, he is talking to the second king already the son of the king of the previous king and king Belshazzar he had a wide party and he was treating people out, mayaman kasi, party for a thousand people and some of us we are rich enough not many people are rich enough to have a party for a thousand to cater that and so nagpa-party sila habang nagpaparty we studied the other week that lumabas bigla yung hand and it began to write on the wall and in chapter 5 natakot yung king so inimbita niya ngayon si Daniel and let’s start reading from v. 10, The queen comes in and they don’t know what to do, nangangatog na yung tuhod nung king they were very perplexed and as usual the woman behind the man comes to the rescue do you believe that that behind every great man is a great woman? How many believed that? Very good!. Anyway, let’s read from there. Daniel 5:10-12

The queen, hearing the voices of the king and his nobles, came into the banquet hall. "O king, live forever!" she said. "Don't be alarmed! Don't look so pale! [11] There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods in him. In the time of your father he was found to have insight and intelligence and wisdom like that of the gods. King Nebuchadnezzar your father--your father the king, I say--appointed him chief of the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and diviners. [12] This man Daniel, whom the king called Belteshazzar, was found to have a keen mind and knowledge and understanding, and also the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles and solve difficult problems. Call for Daniel, and he will tell you what the writing means." We like to extract from these verses what are the traits of a truly successful man here and in chapter 6, we will begin to study ano ba talaga ang kailangan ko para maging successful, victory. In the world how do we define a successful man? Mayaman, power, what else? He is influential, okay happy someone who exudes joy… Anyway basically ang picture natin ng successful man is this executive is made it to the top, he’s made lots of money, he’s living in a comfortable life somewhere in got a big house, big car, nice wife, maraming children… so basically sa mundo yun ang pinupuri natin and that’s why you ask the parents kung ano na ang nagawa nila. We want to change that this evening because not many people who are rich or well off or even not well off are very happy, most of them they die extremely sad and this evening we want to change the way we think about, what is really a successful man, because the bible was not talk about those things so here in this little few verses we look at Daniel he is a very successful man why? Well because one reason he has been dead for such a long time and here we are intelligent people studying him. From ancient time he’s still remembered. Do you think a thousand years from today Angie people will remember you? So ito si Daniel ang tagal na niya before Jesus pa over two thousand years ago we’re still reading about him. Now here are his characteristic, let’s look at the characteristics of a truly successful man and this evening we like to encourage you that you and I we can be really successful together let’s read v. 11, what can you learn. Here’s the queen she is telling the king about this man. What’s the first characteristic, Moses in v. 11, what’s the first characteristic of this man? Okay his first characteristic is he has God’s spirits. So as successful man in God’s eyes his first characteristic is he has God’s spirit. How many of you believe that you have God’s spirit? How do you know that you have God’s spirit. Some people really believe that everybody has God’s spirit because man is made in God’s image but the Bible clearly teach us that not everybody has God’s spirit, everybody has a spirit and that’s why you’re created in God’s image but not every human being has God’s spirit in Him just to digress a little bit let us look at some verses which will tell us how can you be sure that you have God’s spirit? All of those statements are true if you depend on God or if you’re branch to the vine they are all true but they are not the basis for you knowing that God’s spirit is in you those maybe the results. So I will quickly review okay, it is important review because if it’s not clear. Let’s turn our bibles first to show the point that we do have God’s spirit some do have God’s spirit. Let’s turn our bibles please to the book of 2 Tim. 1, the first point about the spirit v.7, For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. According to this verse what is the key truth that you learn about God spirit? In the first part, what do you learn about the holy spirit, who gives the holy spirit, God gives the holy spirit and most of the answer say, I preach the gospel and this… it’s related to what you do but that maybe the result but how do you know that you have God spirit. The first point is the spirit of God is given to us by God, it is never earned by man or He is never earned by man there’s nothing that you can do no matter how many times you go to church you will never receive God’s spirit, He’s given to us by God. When you have the holy spirit, it is not the spirit of shyness, of timidity. Three characteristics of the holy spirit. What are those? Power, the spirit gives us power, the spirit enables us to love and many people do not understand that if you have the holy spirit it results in discipline because he’s that kind of the spirit, disciple means comes from the word discipline. If you have the holy spirit let me tell you, you will learn. He bring three characteristics into our lives, what are those? The first one is power, second love and discipline. Let me give you a quick history of the holy spirit turn to the book of John 14:25-26, "All this I have spoken while still with you. [26] But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. In chapter 15&16 of John you will find sabi niya this is the spirit of truth. John 16:12-13, "I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. [13] "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. The holy spirit is a person it is not even an it, it is a He, when he the spirit of truth what will he do, he will guide you in all the truth, this is who he is and what he does, how do you know you have Him, how can you be sure you have him? Two conditions I’ll show you, turn to John 4, just to be perfectly sure. Let’s turn to John 4, Jesus is talking to this woman at the well and Jesus tells her a fantastic truth of how she can jump first to v. 13, Jesus answered and said to her, "Everyone who drinks of this water shall thirst again; [14] but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life." Can you imagine that, if you have God spirit in you basically thirst mean a need an unfulfilled need if you are thirsty my kulang sabi niya pag uminom ka ng tubig which represents the satisfaction of the world you will be satisfied for a little while but then mauuhaw ka ulit. Ito daw pagmay holy spirit ka then you will come into the world fulfilled, puno there is a well inside you. So many people, if you take one lonely person and then another lonely person in their mind they think if I get married to this fellow I will now be happy. When your lonely you like companionship so you take one lonely person another one you put together you think you’ll have happy people, you have two more lonely people together. Kasi kung lonely ka na single then we strongly advice you marriage will not solve your problems kasi kung meron kang emptiness, meron kang need, you say I want to marry you why, because I want you to fulfill me what you will understand is like water that husband or that wife can never fulfill you totally maybe for a little while and then it will disappear, so you begin to suck off each other. Sabi ni Jesus dito if you have this water that I give you which is the Holy Spirit you will never thirst again puno ka, busog ka that’s the time you will get married because pag puno ka you give of your fullness rather than from an emptiness so when you’re filled then you give… anyway would you like that never to thirst again, how? Jesus gives us the answer the same chapter let’s read together Jesus answered her, if you knew the gift of God and who it is that ask you for drink you who would ask him and he will give you living water. Here you see four steps the first two are conditions if and then. What’s the first if? If you know the gift of God number two if you know kung sino ito na himihingi sa iyo ng drink. So, the two conditions are if you know God’s gift, put your finger here, Romans 6:23, For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Same as John 4:10, same elements, 1) You must know that it is a gift of God, it has nothing to do with you or your actions, it is a gift if you know the gift of God. God give us a gift you have to know it’s a gift, you cannot earn it, you cannot buy it, the Holy Spirit, eternal life is a gift and to whom is it given? Is it given to the good guys or the bad guys. For you to understand that gift you must know that you are a sinner, you do not deserve it kasi kung hinde ka sinner do you need this gift, if you never sin in your life, if you are a good person then you don’t need God’s gift but He gives it only for the wages of sin is death so kailangan na malaman mo na sinner ka and if you read this chapter that’s exactly what Jesus did. So, John 4:10, if you know the gift of God and we know what that is that is eternal life kasi most people they are trying to earn eternal life then you don’t know that it’s a gift and you cannot possibly have God spirit. Many people are very religious they are trying to earn eternal life they cannot possibly have God spirit because God spirit is a gift. So, 1) You must know that it is a gift from God 2) You must know who Jesus is and who is Jesus? is he a good man? Yeah, is he a Jew? Yeah, is he a prophet? Yeah but that’s not enough you must know Him as what sabi the wages of sin is death the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord when you put the word Lord besides Jesus what are you saying? that He is God and there you must know it’s a gift and you must know that it is only given to people who make Jesus Christ their God or their Lord the one that they obey. If Jesus is not your God forget it we cannot have His spirit and what must you now do? If you know those two things sabi ni Jesus what would the woman have done? You would have ask and what would Jesus have done, you would have given, if you know it’s a gift that you don’t deserve, if you know that it only comes through Jesus Christ all you need to do is to ask and He will give you of His spirit, is that simple so how do you know that you have God’s spirit? Because I fulfilled the conditions, I know what God gifts is eternal life and I know who Jesus Christ is and I ask God and how do I know that if I ask God knowing those conditions that He will give it to me because He said so, that’s how you know there’s nothing about you it’s because Jesus said so that’s how you know, that’s how you can be sure it’s not base on feeling, it’s not base on anything, it’s not base on what you do, do you understand because God said so, He promised that’s why you can be sure. Just to be sure that we are sure turn to Ephesians 1:13-14, And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, [14] who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory. According to this verse tayo daw you also ay nakasama kay Kristo kailan? What is the word of truth? The good news about your salvation what’s the good news about your salvation? Jesus Christ died for your sins and he rose again from the dead if you believe in that, that good news bayad na yung kasalanan mo that will give you much joy. If you hear it and then believe it you were already marked with the seal as seal only God can see. Who is that seal? The promise Holy Spirit, and you know why a man with a Holy Spirit is going to be very successful look at what the verse says, the Holy Spirit in v. 14 is a what? Is a deposit guaranteeing what? Most parents they think of inheritance as leaving their will, my last will and testament. We will suggest you to take at your will, the lawyer must share with them the good news of salvation before they get the riches, they must be sent to SFS or Sucat every Wednesday night for one year. Before they receive all these riches if I die you will give them portions until they have finished one year with Peter Tanchi or with any bible teacher in CCF. A deposit guaranteeing are inheritance can you imagine how rich you’ll be? Many people they like to be rich on this earth. What I discovered is the real riches, the real money is in heaven, do you know how to get it? You listen in this class and you will know, one way is to inherit it, the Holy Spirit is a guarantee so if you have God’s spirit should you be jumping up and down or should you be sad? If you already have God’s spirit and who can say that you have? Who knows that you have God’s spirit? God, who else, sometimes you, you don’t even know, you think you have God’s spirit but you could be deceiving yourself, so who knows? The bible say in Timothy God knows those who are His, it is not our job to separate those. In a large church like CCF lahat ba yan anak ng Diyos? Maybe, hopefully but there are some na baka hinde, do they come to the bible studies? Yeah you can come like the Pharisees, yung mga Pharisees ba nagba-bible study? They studied the bible, they memorize the bible and yet they don’t have God’s Spirit so that’s the first characteristic of a successful man, can you imagine you are now introduced, many people ask me how should I introduced you? after tonight here’s how I like to be introduced his a man with God’s spirit. Holy Spirit, what are the characteristic of the Holy Spirit, what should the Holy Spirit bring to you? If you have the Holy Spirit what should you have? PLD no T, what should you have? Power, Love, Discipline no T what’s the T? no Timidity if you have God’s Spirit. Maybe there are some of you who have never accepted God’s Spirit in your heart, let’s just bow our heads. If you are not sure, if you have God’s spirit, if you know the conditions, if you know God’s gift, if you know who Jesus is, if you believe He is God your Lord then all you need to do is ask and God give you. Let’s just bow our heads.
