Genesis

Lesson 7

I will share with you some evidences regarding the flood.

Gen 8:1-5 – Evidence of worldwide deluge. Scientist did not believe in a worldwide

catastrophe. Gradualism means the earth is very old an when you see fossils, it is because eof the length of time and when you see sea shells imbedded on rocks, this means according to them ht the earth is billions and billions of years old.

Tonight hopefully you will haven other perspective of the significance of the flood. You will also learn that Noah stayed in the ark for over a year. Exactly 1 year and 10 days more or less.

Gen 8:13 – 601st year water was dried up.

Like Noah we can be in environment where we think we are lost. You feel like you are in a cage and everything outside is topsy-turvy, chaotic. Sometimes you may feel like Noah. Has God forgotten me? Do you ever feel like that sometimes? God tells us Noah was inside the ark and the bible tells us must be such that he was starting to doubt because he had been inside for over a year.

They follow God and obey the Lord and then when you go inside the ark instead of light, you have darkness. Nothing is in your life. There is with all around you. What happens to the ark? You just float.

What is faith? Faith is willing to float, willing to wait patiently.

Gen 8:16 – who is our ancestor of the human race?

Gen 8:20 – If every animal, bird had been killed in the flood, would you still offer animal

sacrifices? What were left were only the animals in the ark. This is an act of worship.

What is God asking us to give him today?

Surrender whatever is precious in your heart that it has become a stumbling block in your walk.

It has become your god. Offer it to the Lord and then he gives it back to us.

Faith of Noah.

Gen 8:20 – how many pairs of animals

Gen 7:2 – by 7’s Noah brought extra

Gen 8:21 - video

If the flood really did happen, what is the implication in my life? If the flood really did happen and Noah’s ark is true, what are the implications in our lives as believers?

Gen 6:7-8 – If God were to tell us that he is about to destroy the earth through the flood,

what are the implications?

God said something and it happened. What will your attitude be towards the

Word of God?

Gen 7:15 – God tells Noah – enter the ark.

Gen 7:16 – the Lord closed the door

Gen 8:4 – what are the implications?

  1. When God tells us something even if it is hard to believe, we better believe it.
  2. God tells us another incredible thing that will happen. He says he will destroy this earth. How can this beautiful planet be destroyed?

2 Peter 3:3 - There will really be a day of judgement,
