CCF Joins Puso sa Puso 2010

UPDATE: For those who missed this event, you may still catch it on TV on Thursday, April 29, 2010, 10pm at Channel 5 (TV 5)

“Puso sa Puso” video coverage can also be viewed anytime via the CCF Livestream page.

Pastor Peter Tan-chi is encouraging everyone in CCF to be proactive in choosing the rightful candidate for Philippine president for this coming 2010 elections. One excellent occasion to do this is the “Puso sa Puso 2010.” Puso sa Puso is the evangelical community’s prayer gathering with presidential forum in Araneta Coliseum on April 26, 2010 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM.

Many Presidential forums have been conducted so far, which usually focused on platforms, track records and issues. We believe that after hearing all of these information, it is now time to search their hearts.

We believe that it is equally, if not more important, to know the person behind the persona projected by the candidates in the media. It is vital for us to know their joys and passions, their pains and sufferings as human beings created by God. It is critical to check their motives and shed light on their convictions, because during these times of widespread poverty and systemic corruption, what may drive the country to emerge out of these twin social evils is the president’s strength of character. The forum is intended to help us take a peek into the hearts of the candidates so that we can have a better perspective of who they are, and a better appreciation of how they may behave when they are in a position of power, and respond during times of crises.

So this will not be a debate among the candidates on stage. The forum will be distinct from all other fora because each leading presidential candidate will be given dedicated time of about 15 to 20 minutes where he will be alone on stage in a relaxed atmosphere. It will be dedicated time for the host chosen by the church to ask him questions to get to know him better, and the candidate to share what’s in his heart.

Tickets for the said affair will be made available here in CCF. CCF members are requested to get in touch with their respective pastors to secure tickets. Choice of seats will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.
