Be Ready, Be Faithful

1 Corinthians 12:22-25
“…the members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary; and those members of the body which we deem less honorable, on these we bestow more abundant honor…But God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honor to that member which lacked, so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.”

Reader’s Digest, the popular publication has conducted in the Philippines for 2010 a nationwide survey asking people from various walks of life to rate 80 Filipino personalities on their trustworthiness. People were asked to rate them with a score ranging from one to ten, where one is equated to “Don’t trust at all” and ten being “Trust completely.”

Rosal Rosal, best known for her work with the Philippine National Red cross and other humanitarian endeavors came on top of the list. She is number one – earning the reputation as the most trusted local personality. In case you don’t know, she is also a member of Christ’s Commission Fellowship.

Known also for her great talent and influence she used her celebrity position to impact the Philippines for good. For the last 60 years she has been faithfully serving the Philippine National Red Cross. Very much aware and assured of herself she says, “I know my giftedness. If only I am good in politics I will enter politics but I am not. I am a servant. I want to serve within my capacity.”

Many years ago she talked to me and said, “Peter, the problem with CCF is that the toilets are not clean!” She had been coming and seeing the toilets unclean. “I am going to do something, I am going to bring my staff and clean the toilet.” Right there and then, she knelt down and began cleaning the toilet – demonstrating to the pastors that we all have responsibilities to keep our toilets clean. She was not too proud to kneel down and clean the toilet by herself. If you know that you are serving the Lord you wouldn’t mind kneeling down because you know that is what God wants you to do. Whatever God wants you to do, you do it. (PTC)

Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful
May the fire of our devotion light their way
May the footprints that we leave
Lead them to believe
And the lives we live inspire them to obey – Steve Green
