CCF Prayer Mountain to Rise

Set to rise this year in Sto. Tomas, Batangas at the foot of Mt. Makiling, the Prayer Mountain project will establish three three-story inn buildings, fourteen cottages, and several gazebos. The project will also create a coffee/gift shop building, two congregation buildings, and a sports complex with facilities for basketball, badminton, and swimming, among others.

The site is ideally situated, as it is closer to Metro Manila than the usual retreat centers which CCF patronizes in Subic, Caliraya, and Baguio. The roads leading from the main highway to the site allow safe passage to vehicles all year round.

With a climate five degrees cooler than in the lowlands, the clean and fresh mountain air will give guests a peaceful sense of well-being and encourage them to spend time with the Lord and His people.

The Three Construction Phases

The CCF Prayer Mountain Project, conceived in 2003, has been divided into three phases.

In Phase One, a three-story inn building with 32 rooms, each with its own toilet and bath,b will be built. This building will also have an office and reception area at the ground floor, a dining hall and multi-purpose area at the third floor, a worship/dining auditorium, and office rooms. It will accommodate 32 couples or 160 singles/ youths.

In Phase Two, two additional three-story inns will be constructed, bringing the total number of guest rooms to 144. The main congregation hall, comprising the dining hall & worship auditorium, will also rise. This paves the way for the third floor of the first inn to be fully converted into guest rooms. The sports facilities, coffee/gift shop and other smaller facilities will also be built.

In Phase Three, the final stage of the project, the Secondary Congregation Hall will be built on the rising slope, facing Mt. Makiling. This hall is projected to accommodate 1,250 people. Eight guest cottages with eight rooms each will also be built.

The Vision

The vision for the CCF Prayer Mountain started several years ago, when the church leaders studied the effectiveness of the Korean prayer mountain system. Sometime afterward, a committed brother donated his nine-hectare property toward this vision. Many changes later in the architectural design and the master plan, the project has continued to move forward.

With approximately 20,000 members and CCF growing not only in numbers, but also in lateral activities and ministries, the church will benefit greatly from having its own center to train teachers, missionaries and staff.

Let us support the CCF Prayer Mountain project by praying wholeheartedly for its completion.
